Every outer wedding envelope should have the complete address as well as the correct way to do it according to traditional etiquette is to hand write every address. Don’t use abbreviations whilst addressing wedding invitations. If you are inviting children under eighteen then outer envelope should be addressed towards the parents additionally, the inner envelop should carry the names of the children in order from oldest to youngest.

Children over 18 should receive their own invitation card even if they stay with the parents.

If you’re inviting a single friend of yours then it is up to you to put “and Guest” because it is optional. But if you know that your friend is seriously going around with someone then as a proper etiquette allow him/her to bring guest along.

Unmarried couples living together should receive one invitation card with individual names mentioned in alphabetical order.

When it comes to assembling the envelop place in the following order.

- Tissue paper
- Reception card
- Map
- Response envelope (self-addressed and stamped)
- Response card tucked neatly under the flap of the response envelope

Just make sure that each of the envelops carry all the components and don’t make the mistake of sealing the internal envelop. All too often the couples are so excited about the whole wedding things that they forget the wedding envelope etiquette while sending the invites out. Some wedding guest might get offended if the envelope is not correctly addressed, as a result to avoid it make sure that you properly address all the wedding invites keeping in mind the wedding envelope etiquette.
